Pertamina Lubricants Maintains Export Markets, Including Yemen
Jakarta, KOMPAS.com - Pertamina Lubricants is striving to keep its export markets stable, including maintaining a number of destination countries that have long been trade partners. One of the markets that remains in focus is Yemen. Although the Middle East region remains tense due to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, the company is working to maintain the business relationships that have been established. “Exports to 17 countries are still proceeding because we are focusing on development in these 17 markets,” Nugroho said in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Nugroho explained that Yemen was one of the markets that had previously shown considerable potential for Indonesian-made lubricants. Therefore, even though regional conditions are unstable, Pertamina Lubricants continues to strive to sustain that market. According to him, before the conflict escalated, Yemen was among the markets that looked promising for lubricant exports. In fact, Pertamina Lubricants had won tenders and carried out shipments in sizeable amounts. “Because before the war, Yemen was quite potent. We had won tenders there twice. If I’m not mistaken, in 2013 we shipped around 15 containers. We participated in tenders there, we won, and they also carried out inspections here,” he said. In addition to product quality, Nugroho noted that the existence of a lubricant research and development facility was also a factor that increased the confidence of international partners. “We are fortunate to have a Lubricant Technology Center. It is one of the largest lubricant R&D facilities in Southeast Asia,” Nugroho said. “That facility also gives our partners the confidence to work with us,” he added.
