Pertamina Invites National Media Editors-in-Chief to Inspect Plumpang IT Reliability
PT Pertamina (Persero) invited a number of editors-in-chief from national media outlets to directly observe the operations of the Jakarta Integrated Terminal (ITJ) in Plumpang on Friday, 13 February 2026. The visit was part of the company’s commitment to transparency and the strengthening of oversight over fuel quality control processes before distribution to the public.
PT Pertamina (Persero) Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita emphasized that the event was an important opportunity to directly demonstrate to the public how fuel quality control processes are rigorously carried out.
“We invited editors-in-chief to see firsthand how Pertamina ensures that the fuel products received by the public—available at gas stations—have undergone very strict inspection stages overseen by the entire ITJ team,” said Arya.
Integrated Terminal Manager of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Western Java Regional, Subholding Commercial & Trading, I Nyoman Adi Pradana, explained that the Plumpang Terminal consists of three main facilities with a storage capacity of up to 300,000 kiloliters. The terminal distributes fuel to more than 120 distribution agencies and contributes approximately 20 percent of national fuel distribution.
“The role of Jakarta Integrated Terminal Plumpang is vital to the community’s energy security. From this terminal, fuel distribution is channeled to meet the needs of Jakarta and surrounding areas,” said Nyoman.
The significant role of ITJ in the national distribution chain has driven Pertamina to prioritize a standardized quality assurance system based on cutting-edge technology. At the Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Laboratory, quality testing is conducted using CFR Engine (Cooperative Fuel Research) technology in accordance with ASTM D-6299 standards. This engine is used to test Research Octane Number (RON) values by measuring fuel resistance to knocking through tightly controlled combustion simulations.
Through this visit, Pertamina hopes the media gains a comprehensive picture of terminal operations while strengthening synergy as strategic partners in delivering accurate information to the public.
As a leading company in energy transition, Pertamina is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company’s transformation continues to be directed toward strengthening governance, public services, business sustainability, and the environment through the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across all business lines and operations.
