Pertamina International Shipping Posts Positive Performance in 2025

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) recorded a positive performance throughout 2025, underpinned by cost efficiency and fleet strengthening. The company posted revenue of US$3.33 billion, with profits reaching US$572.48 million, supported by an expansion of its business portfolio into non-captive markets.

PIS transported 107.69 billion litres of crude oil, refinery products, fuel, and LPG, ensuring energy supply reliability across Indonesia. The company also contributed Rp4.87 trillion to the state through taxes and dividends. Growth was particularly evident in the LNG transport sector, with 11 shipments completed, a 5.5-fold increase from 2024. Diversification efforts included the international transport of petrochemicals and the inaugural shipment of 30,216 metric tonnes of slab steel, marking an expansion beyond conventional energy transport.

Fleet capacity was strengthened to 111 vessels ahead of a downstream business integration within the Pertamina Group. In sustainability efforts, PIS reduced emissions by 116,761 tCO2e, surpassing its target by 158 percent, primarily through voyage optimisation. The company also achieved an ESG score of BB from MSCI and was recognised as a Top Employer Indonesia 2025. Social responsibility initiatives included a hospital ship programme in Waigeo serving 4,099 patients, and the planting of 38,000 mangroves, 3,200 seagrasses, and 300 corals, alongside whale shark conservation tagging.
