PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah (Central Java Region), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), has increased its supply of 3 kg LPG cylinders to more than 9 million units for distribution across Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) during the 2026 Ramadan-Eid season.

According to Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager Communication, Relations, and Corporate Social Responsibility for Pertamina’s Central Java Region, the total additional supply comprises 9,047,530 cylinders, consisting of 5,902,480 cylinders for optional distribution on holidays and public holidays, and 3,145,050 cylinders for extra stocking to strengthen supplies during peak consumption periods.

Optional distribution serves as replacement distribution on days off or public holidays, whilst extra stocking strengthens inventory in the field during peak consumption periods. With this additional supply, the energy needs of the community will remain met throughout the sacred period of Ramadan and Eid. Central Java receives 8,225,930 cylinders from this allocation, whilst Yogyakarta receives 821,600 cylinders.

In comparison with normal conditions, 3 kg LPG consumption in Central Java and Yogyakarta typically reaches 37,742,120 cylinders. The additional supply of more than 9 million cylinders therefore represents an increase of approximately 24 per cent from regular consumption.

In Central Java, the increase reaches 24.48 per cent of normal consumption of 33,614,480 cylinders, whilst in Yogyakarta the additional supply reaches 19.9 per cent of normal consumption of 4,127,640 cylinders. However, the distribution of this additional supply is conducted in stages, following consumption growth trends among the community.

The schedule for optional distribution in Central Java and Yogyakarta has been set to begin with 1,181,680 cylinders on 17 February 2026, followed by 1,573,600 cylinders each on 19 March 2026, 21 March 2026, and 3 April 2026.

Beyond the optional distribution schedule, Pertamina is also deploying extra stocking as reinforcement to regular distribution that has been running since late February 2026. This extra stocking totals 3,145,050 cylinders, divided between 2,801,210 cylinders for Central Java and 343,840 cylinders for Yogyakarta.

Taufiq stated that the company continues to monitor inventory reliability down to the lowest distribution level, with the main focus remaining on the stability of household energy supplies, which typically increase sharply during Ramadan and Eid.

“We will ensure this additional LPG supply can truly maintain inventory reliability in the field, especially at the distribution depot level, so that people need not worry about availability during Ramadan until Eid,” Taufiq said.

Whilst increasing the supply of 3 kg LPG, Taufiq appealed to residents with the means to switch to non-subsidised LPG such as Bright Gas in 5.5 kg and 12 kg variants to ensure subsidies reach their intended targets. He also emphasised the importance of purchasing gas from official Pertamina depots to ensure residents receive prices in accordance with government regulations.

“If 3 kg LPG is purchased from official depots, not only is the stock guaranteed, but the price is also assured to conform to established provisions, with a maximum price of HET (Maximum Retail Price) of Rp18,000,” said Taufiq.
