Pertamina Increases Supply of 1.5 Million 3kg LPG Cylinders to Central Java and Yogyakarta Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Semarang — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased the supply of 1.5 million 3kg LPG cylinders to Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) to meet rising demand ahead of Eid al-Adha.

“In anticipation of the 1447 Hijriyah Eid al-Adha and the accompanying long holiday, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Central Java Region (JBT) has bolstered distributor stocks with an additional 1,567,660 3kg LPG cylinders, equivalent to 99.31% of the region’s average daily consumption,” said Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga JBT, in a statement on Monday, 25 May 2026.

He added that the 1.5 million 3kg LPG cylinders for Central Java and DIY are being distributed through two schemes. First, a facultative delivery of 1,048,440 cylinders on 27 May 2026.

“Facultative delivery is an additional distribution carried out on public holidays or official holidays, outside regular working-day schedules, to ensure stock availability amid high public demand,” Taufiq said.

The second scheme is extra dropping, through which Pertamina delivered 519,220 cylinders in the fourth week of May 2026.

“Extra dropping involves increasing volumes above normal daily deliveries to rapidly bolster stock levels at distribution points as demand rises ahead of Eid al-Adha,” he added.

Of the additional 1.5 million cylinders, 1,087,860 were distributed to Central Java, while the remaining 479,800 went to the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Taufiq stated that the increased supply of 3kg LPG cylinders to Central Java and DIY is part of Pertamina’s efforts to maintain supply stability. “This also anticipates the typical rise in household LPG consumption during Eid al-Adha, when large-scale cooking activities significantly increase at both family and community levels,” he said.

Despite adequate stock, Taufiq urged the public to use energy responsibly and advised purchasing 3kg LPG cylinders only from official Pertamina dealers.
