PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah (Central Java and DIY) has taken proactive steps during the school holiday period running from 22 June to 3 July 2026. The company has officially increased Pertalite fuel stocks by 10 to 18 percent at all public filling stations (SPBU) across Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This strategic measure aims to anticipate the surge in tourist vehicles, based on the trend of rising fuel consumption during last year’s school holiday period, which saw an increase of 1.4 percent in Central Java and 7 percent in DIY. Area Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Jateng DIY, Taufiq Kurniawan, stated that the position of Central Java and DIY as premier national tourist destinations is the main reason behind the stock reinforcement. ‘Central Java and DIY are two provinces that rely on the tourism sector as the heart of their economy. Access is easy and affordable, so as in previous years, we are anticipating and fully supporting this consumption surge,’ said Taufiq. Daily stock reinforcement at SPBU will be carried out dynamically based on periodic evaluations, with priority given to points along tourist routes and destinations. To ensure consumer comfort and prevent congestion around filling areas, Pertamina Patra Niaga Jateng DIY is also implementing five tactical measures. First, fuel distribution to SPBU is conducted in the early hours to avoid traffic density. Second, the delivery volume capacity of Pertalite to potential SPBU is increased. Third, special officers are deployed to manage queues on site for orderly refuelling. Fourth, packaged drinking water is distributed free of charge to queuing motorists. Fifth, the MyPertamina digital access is optimised to make it easier for visitors to locate the nearest SPBU. To ensure smooth operations on the ground, Pertamina has confirmed intensive coordination with local governments and the police force. This step is taken to guarantee that fuel supply remains uninterrupted without causing congestion that disturbs other road users.
