Pertamina increases 3 kg LPG allocation in three regencies during Ramadan
Blora (ANTARA) — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Regional has provided additional allocations of 3 kilogram LPG cylinders in three Central Java regencies — Blora, Rembang and Grobogan — to bolster supply and anticipate a surge in demand during Ramadan.
“The additional daily discretionary allocation during Ramadan 2026 for Grobogan Regency is 35,840 cylinders, Rembang Regency 19,560 cylinders, and Blora Regency 23,520 cylinders,” said Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR at the Central Java Regional office, in Blora on Tuesday.
He noted that the distribution of subsidised LPG throughout 2025 in the three regencies reflected high public consumption of subsidised LPG. Grobogan Regency recorded distribution of 12,369,000 cylinders during 2025, Rembang Regency 6,516,333 cylinders, and Blora 8,176,333 cylinders.
He explained that the additional daily discretionary supply had been prepared to maintain supply stability and anticipate increased consumption by households and micro-business operators during Ramadan.
“Specifically in Blora, the additional 23,520 cylinders are equivalent to 88 per cent of the normal daily allocation of approximately 26,728 cylinders per day. Meanwhile, current distribution is running at around 80 per cent of the daily allocation and is expected to rise by approximately 5 per cent during Ramadan,” he said.
Overall, Pertamina is distributing an additional 1.1 million cylinders, equivalent to 3,544 metric tonnes, across Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta from 17 February 2026. Of this total, more than one million cylinders have been allocated for Central Java and 144,000 cylinders for Yogyakarta, representing more than 75 per cent above normal daily distribution levels.
Taufiq stressed that the additional supply was intended to ensure stocks at official distribution points remain secure, so the public need not engage in excessive purchasing.
In addition, Pertamina urged financially capable consumers to switch to non-subsidised LPG products such as Bright Gas in 5.5 kg and 12 kg sizes, to ensure subsidies reach their intended recipients.
Purchases of 3 kg LPG should be made at official distribution points at the maximum retail price of Rp18,000 per cylinder.
“With these measures, distribution of 3 kg LPG in the three regencies is expected to remain smooth and stable throughout Ramadan,” he said.
