Pertamina increases 1.5 million 3kg LPG cylinders in Central Java and Yogyakarta ahead of Idul Adha

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java (JBT) has increased stock at distribution agencies by adding 1,567,660 3kg LPG cylinders in Central Java and Yogyakarta. Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR of Regional Central Java (JBT), Taufiq Kurniawan, said on Monday in Semarang that the additional supply is equivalent to 99.31% of daily normal consumption. “We ensure the additional 3kg LPG supply maintains field stock reliability, especially at agency level, so the public does not need to worry about availability during Idul Adha celebrations,” he said. He explained the additional stock consists of 1,087,860 cylinders in Central Java and 479,800 in Yogyakarta. “We hope this additional stock will ensure public safety and comfort during Idul Adha rituals and the late May holiday period,” he added. He said Pertamina continues to ensure stock reliability down to the distribution level that directly interacts with the public. The additional supply is distributed through two schemes: first, facultative distribution of 1,048,440 cylinders on May 27, 2026. Facultative is an additional distribution scheme on holidays or public holidays, outside regular working-day schedules, to ensure stock availability amid high public demand. Second, extra dropping of 519,220 cylinders in the fourth week of May 2026. Extra dropping is an increase above normal daily distribution, aimed at strengthening agency stock more quickly as demand rises ahead of Idul Adha. This step is part of Pertamina’s efforts to maintain energy supply stability while anticipating increased household LPG consumption during the Idul Adha period. “When large-scale cooking activities significantly increase at family and community levels,” he said. Furthermore, as support for the government’s LPG subsidy program, Pertamina urges those who can afford to use non-subsidised LPG to ensure subsidies reach the intended recipients. Pertamina offers non-subsidised LPG products under the Bright Gas brand in two sizes: 5.5kg and 12kg. “Although supply is ample, we also urge the public to consume energy wisely and purchase 3kg LPG from official Pertamina agencies,” he said.
