Pertamina Implements Tax Data Integration to Boost Transparency
PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) at the Ministry of Finance are strengthening synergy through a co-operative compliance programme, which includes a Tax Control Framework (TCF) and tax data integration. The move is part of an effort to build a more modern, transparent, and trust-based tax administration. In its implementation, Pertamina has become the first taxpayer in Indonesia to serve as a pilot project for the TCF and data integration with the DJP.
Pertamina’s Finance Director, Mega Satria, welcomed the trust placed in the company by the government, particularly the Ministry of Finance and the DJP. “This trust is a responsibility we carry out with full commitment. For Pertamina, this collaboration is not merely about strengthening the tax system, but also part of an effort to reinforce governance across the Pertamina Group by prioritising transparency, accountability, and compliance,” Mega said during the kick-off for the Co-operative Compliance pilot programme in Jakarta.
Together with the DJP, Pertamina is building close collaboration to support national tax reform so that it can make the best possible contribution to the state. Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto expressed his appreciation to Pertamina for being a partner in the pilot implementation of Co-operative Compliance. “We would like to thank PT Pertamina (Persero) for its commitment and openness in becoming the first partner in this trial. With the support of the Tax Control Framework and data integration, tax risks can be identified earlier, providing legal certainty, reducing compliance costs, and minimising the potential for disputes,” Bimo stated.
As a state-owned enterprise mandated to safeguard national energy security, Pertamina views tax compliance as an inseparable part of good corporate governance. Tax is not only an administrative obligation but also a manifestation of the company’s contribution to supporting national development and improving public welfare. This commitment is reflected in Pertamina’s contribution to the state, which over the past three years has reached Rp1,188 trillion through taxes, dividends, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), and other fiscal obligations.
Pertamina’s participation in this trial is a continuation of the company’s tax transformation, which began with the signing of a data integration memorandum of understanding with the DJP in 2019. Since then, Pertamina has continued to strengthen tax management through the implementation of the Tax Control Framework, harmonisation with the Coretax system, and the integration of tax processes with various company digital systems. Mega added that this step is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the DJP and taxpayers through the use of integrated data, thereby supporting the creation of a tax system that upholds transparency with the latest digital technology.
