PT Pertamina Hulu Energy (PHE), along with PT Pertamina EP Zones 7 and 11, has strengthened coordination with central and regional governments to support national energy security while safeguarding food security.

The coordination involves key stakeholders from the energy, land, spatial planning sectors, and regional governments in West Java and Eastern Indonesia.

Nanang Abdul Manaf, Chairman of the ESDM Ministry’s Gas Production Acceleration Task Force, stated that achieving energy self-sufficiency requires integrated efforts involving all stakeholders.

He added that harmonising spatial planning is crucial to ensure energy sector development proceeds in tandem with community interests and other sectors, including agriculture.

PT Pertamina EP’s Director General Rachmat Hidajat praised the stakeholders’ support during the event.

“We hope this initiative fosters synergistic collaboration and a shared understanding among all stakeholders, particularly in supporting upstream oil and gas activities to achieve the nation’s Eight Aspirations for food and energy security,” Hidajat said.

The event served as a forum for central and regional governments, along with the energy industry, to discuss spatial management and land use related to upstream oil and gas operations.

Hermansyah Y Nasroen, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energy, said the harmonisation agenda is vital to ensure strategic energy development aligns with agriculture and environmental sustainability.

“We hope this event marks a positive step in strengthening collaboration between central and regional governments, the agricultural sector, and the energy industry to realise harmonious and sustainable national development,” he added.

At the conclusion, participants formulated policies on land and spatial regulation.

Both central and regional government attendees reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Pertamina’s activities, including resolving upstream oil and gas operational issues from policy formulation to on-ground implementation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energy is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), serving as the upstream subholding within Pertamina.
