Pertamina Geothermal Secures US$75 Million Credit Facility from Bank Mizuho
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) has obtained a non-cash loan facility with a ceiling of up to US$75 million from PT Bank Mizuho Indonesia. The unsecured credit was agreed upon in a Trade Facility Agreement signed on Thursday, 23 July 2026. PGE Finance Director Fransetya Hutabarat stated that this scheme reflects a high level of confidence in the company’s risk profile and financial performance. ‘This facility will support PGE’s operational needs and future project development,’ he said in a written statement on Friday, 25 July 2026. PGE secured an omnibus facility that includes a Bank Guarantee facility, Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC), Import Letter of Credit (L/C), Account Payable Financing (APF), and a revolving loan facility. The collaboration with Bank Mizuho is expected to grow and jointly accelerate the energy transition towards net zero emissions in Indonesia. Bank Mizuho Indonesia Marketing Director Heru Gautama Hatman said the financing facility also strengthens the long-term collaboration with PGE in supporting clean energy development in the country. As one of the largest financial service providers in Japan, Bank Mizuho supports the financing of PGE’s green ecosystem, which has previously been strengthened by various other funding sources. ‘We hope this cooperation is not merely a financing facility,’ he said. Pertamina Geothermal Energy stated it will continue to prioritise sound and prudent funding strategies for investment sustainability in geothermal development projects. Through collaboration with various international financial institutions, the company is confident it will strengthen the foundation to achieve a managed installed capacity target of 1 gigawatt by 2028, increasing to 1.8 GW by 2034.
