Pertamina Facilitates Halal Certification for 50 MSMEs to Drive Market Expansion

Through its MSME development programme, PT Pertamina (Persero) has facilitated halal certification for 50 mentored Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various business sectors. Halal certification is now recognised not only as a guarantee of product permissibility but also as a crucial factor in increasing business competitiveness and expanding market access.

Muhammad Baron, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that this support is part of Pertamina’s commitment to encouraging its mentored MSMEs to become more resilient and competitive, thereby accelerating their business growth. “Pertamina is encouraging mentored MSMEs to not only produce high-quality products but also to be supported by legality and certification that can increase consumer confidence. This halal certification facilitation is expected to provide added value to products while opening wider market opportunities,” Baron said in a statement on Friday, 31 July 2026.

The programme involves MSMEs operating in food and beverage, fashion, handicrafts, personal care, beauty, and various other business sectors. The facilitation of halal certification is part of Pertamina’s continuous development programme to help MSMEs improve product quality, meet legal requirements, and strengthen business competitiveness.

According to Baron, Pertamina’s MSME development does not stop at certification. The company also provides training, mentoring, product quality enhancement, and marketing development support tailored to the needs and developmental stages of each business. “We hope that mentored MSMEs can utilise halal certification as capital to continue innovating, maintaining product quality, and expanding marketing networks. Pertamina will continue to serve as a partner supporting MSMEs to be ready to grow and compete,” he added.

Minie Sudjarwo, owner of MiniesQ and one of Pertamina’s mentored MSMEs, expressed that the halal certification facilitation is expected to provide tangible benefits for her business development. “Halal certification adds value to our products. We are now more confident in offering our products to a wider market and opening opportunities to collaborate with modern retail stores and other business partners. Pertamina’s support serves as an inspiration for us to continue developing our business,” said Minie.
