Pertamina Extends SPBU Operating Hours to Address Queues
Pertamina Patra Niaga has announced an extension of operating hours at Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. This is an effort to address queues of vehicles refuelling petroleum products (BBM). “We are extending operating hours until 1:00 a.m. WIB in the early hours,” said Sales Area Manager Retail Kalteng Pertamina Patra Niaga Donny Prasetya in Palangka Raya on Friday, 8 May 2026, as reported by Antara. Donny explained that, based on their evaluation, the causes of long queues for BBM refuelling include simultaneous increases in purchases for both Pertalite and Pertamax. This situation is seen to potentially lead some residents, who previously focused on Pertamax, to be influenced by rumours regarding stock shortages and price adjustment changes. “That’s why we are trying to calm the situation by increasing supplies to SPBUs. Specifically for Pertamax, to serve Palangka Raya, the normal average is 190 KL per day, and we are adding 200 KL per day as mentioned earlier,” he clarified. Pertamina is intensively coordinating and collaborating with the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, along with TNI, Police, and others, to address the long queues at fuel stations on the ground. Central Kalimantan Governor Agustiar Sabran stated that his side is continuously working to normalise the BBM queue conditions that have occurred in recent times. “We are requesting an increase in quotas for Central Kalimantan to address the current situation,” said the governor. His side is also coordinating and proposing legalisation for retail BBM outlets as one effort to reduce vehicle queues at SPBUs.
