Pertamina EP Limau boosts oil and gas output with new Muara Enim well
Pertamina EP (PEP) Limau Field has increased oil and gas production through the development of well LM-03 (L5A-312) located in the Limau Barat structure, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra.
Senior Manager PEP Limau Field Abdul Rachman Para Buana said the development well recorded an initial flow test with a maximum production of 643 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 0.362 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.
The LM-03 well is scheduled to commence production in March 2026, producing high-quality oil with a low water cut of approximately one percent.
“The development success adds around 12% to PEP Limau’s 2026 production target. We continue to maintain the well’s sustainable production through safe and reliable operations,” he said.
The additional production from LM-03 is a significant contribution to achieving PEP Limau Field’s 2026 target of 5,036 BOPD for oil and 11.3 MMSCFD for gas.
Besides providing additional energy supply, the LM-03 well development also recorded strong workplace safety performance. Drilling and development operations were conducted over 62,712 work hours without any accidents since commencement.
This achievement demonstrates the company’s commitment to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) aspects and operational excellence across all oil and gas operations.
Meanwhile, Senior Manager Subsurface Development and Planning PHR Zona 4 Reza Nur Ardianto said the success of LM-03 would serve as a foundation for further development of oil and gas potential in the surrounding area.
“We are not stopping at LM-03; we will continue drilling one development well in 2026. The company is also pursuing further well developments nearby based on geological, geophysical, and reservoir data,” he added.
He noted that the results from LM-03 indicate promising prospects to support increased oil and gas production in PHR Zona 4’s work area.
The successful well development also relied on support from local communities and stakeholders. Before drilling commenced, PHR Zona 4 Relations team conducted community awareness sessions attended by village heads and community leaders.
