Pertamina Ensures LPG Supply Remains Secure Following Fire at Cimuning SPBE
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java (JBB) has assured that LPG supplies to the public remain secure following a fire at the Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) on Jalan Cinyosog, Cimuning Ward, Bekasi City, on Wednesday (1/4) night.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional JBB assures that LPG supplies to the public remain secure,” stated Area Manager for Communications, Relations & CSR of Regional JBB, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Susanto August Satria, in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
He explained that a Regular Alternative Emergency (RAE) scheme has been prepared, supported by supplies from the nearest SPBEs, namely those of PT Kenrope Sarana Pratama, PT Pacific Sumber Segara, and PT Dharma Wira Sentosa.
Therefore, Satria urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying due to the incident.
“Because replacement supply points for the SPBE have been provided to continue serving the public,” said Satria.
Regarding the victims affected by the fire, Pertamina has requested the SPBE party to provide the best handling, including ensuring that public complaints are addressed properly and optimally.
The number of victims is still being tallied and will be reported further.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java extends apologies for the incident that occurred at the Bulk LPG Filling Station of PT Indogas Andalan Kita on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, around 21:00 WIB,” said Satria.
The fire engulfed the Cimuning SPBE area in Bekasi City on Wednesday at 21:30 WIB. The flames were extinguished after firefighters from several posts worked together with local residents.
Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the Bekasi City Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Idham Kholid, stated that at least 12 people were injured in the fire.
However, Idham did not detail the injuries sustained by the victims. He only explained that the injured victims were referred to four hospitals: RS Kartika Husada, RSUD Kabupaten Bekasi, RSUD dr. Chasbullah Abdulmadjid Kota Bekasi, and RS Citra Arafiq.
Meanwhile, the extent of losses from the fire in the area spanning approximately 2,000 square metres (m²) is still being calculated. However, severe damage was recorded to three market stalls, six SPBE trucks, and seven two-wheeled vehicles.
