Pertamina Ensures Fuel Distribution in North Sumatra Continues to Improve

PT Pertamina (Persero), through its subsidiary Pertamina Patra Niaga, is accelerating fuel distribution in the North Sumatra region, with conditions reported to be increasingly normal. To ensure the process proceeds as planned, Independent Commissioner of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Prabu Revolusi, conducted a Management Walkthrough at the Regional Sumbagut office, directly inspecting the Command Centre used for distribution monitoring and visiting several petrol stations in Medan. Based on CCTV monitoring and on-the-ground reviews, vehicle queues have gradually returned to normal and services to the public are running more effectively. Prabu expressed appreciation for the collaboration of all parties who worked hard to speed up the normalisation of fuel distribution. “The most important thing for us is that the public can once again obtain fuel easily and comfortably. Today’s monitoring results show that conditions on the ground are improving. Collaboration from all parties is key so that the distribution process can run optimally again,” he said in a press release received on Thursday (17/7/2026). Prabu also urged the public to remain calm as fuel stocks in North Sumatra are safe and sufficient. “We encourage the public to use fuel wisely according to their needs and not to make excessive purchases. We also urge the public to obtain information regarding stock and distribution conditions through Pertamina’s official communication channels, as there are several old video clips being republished without context, which could potentially cause panic,” he added. To maintain energy supply reliability, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut continues to optimise various operational measures, including 24-hour operations at the Integrated Terminal Medan Group, the addition of tanker fleets through spot charter schemes, reinforcement of tanker crew personnel, and supply optimisation from the Kisaran Fuel Terminal, Siantar Fuel Terminal, and the Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal. Currently, operations at the Integrated Terminal Medan Group have returned to normal, while fuel distribution to petrol stations in Medan and surrounding areas is proceeding smoothly. Pertamina Patra Niaga assures that fuel stocks in North Sumatra are in a safe condition and will continue intensive monitoring to ensure the community’s energy needs are met.
