PT Pertamina (Persero) has ensured that humanitarian aid for communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is distributed in a well-targeted manner through direct inspections of several evacuation sites and distribution of aid according to residents’ needs.

Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, said he was accompanied by Director of Downstream Optimisation and Distribution of Pertamina Patra Niaga Hari Purnomo to inspect a number of evacuation points in Manggarai Regency, including the Main Post at Lapangan Barang Kolong, Reok District.

According to him, Pertamina’s presence on the ground is a form of concern as well as ensuring that aid is truly received by the people who need it.

“We are here to see firsthand the condition of the community and ensure that the support we provide truly answers the needs on the ground,” he explained.

The humanitarian aid distributed by the state-owned energy company includes various basic needs of the affected communities, ranging from food, ready-to-eat meals, mineral water, medicines and vitamins, baby and women’s supplies, hygiene kits, blankets, mats, tarpaulins, to cooking equipment.

He said all the aid was distributed in stages and in a coordinated manner to the Reo, Mbay and Maumere areas.

In addition to basic necessities, through Pertamina Patra Niaga the company also distributed supporting facilities in the form of three portable toilet units complete with water tanks and pumps in Reo, 12 Bright Gas 12-kilogram cylinders in Maumere, and 250 packages of ready-to-eat meals in Nggolombay Village to support the operation of public kitchens and the daily needs of evacuees.

Amid the series of humanitarian actions, the company also held a ceremony to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the Reo Fuel Terminal.

The ceremony took place amid the post-earthquake recovery atmosphere, with Pertamina officers continuing to carry out their duties to maintain the smooth operation of energy distribution for the community.

Previously, Pertamina Patra Niaga distributed humanitarian aid while ensuring energy availability was maintained for communities affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that shook several areas in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga Kitty Andhora, in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday (16/8), said that based on the operational condition update as of Saturday (15/8), of the total 52 petrol stations in the Flores region, 32 units were operating and 20 other petrol stations were still not operating because they were affected by the disaster.

According to her, the operational condition of petrol stations is dynamic and continues to be monitored according to developments on the ground.
