Pertamina ensures 4,000 kl Pertalite maintains supply in Bengkulu
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has confirmed that Pertalite supplies in Bengkulu Province remain secure after a fuel tanker carrying 4,000 kilolitres (kl) of Pertalite arrived at Pulau Baai Port.
“Alhamdulillah, the Pertalite stock situation in the Bengkulu region is safe so far. The MT Gaharu vessel carrying approximately 4,000 kl of Pertalite cargo arrived in Bengkulu yesterday afternoon. It is currently in the process of unloading,” said Mochammad Farid Akbar, Sales Area Manager Retail Bengkulu of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, in Bengkulu on Wednesday.
Farid said the unloading of the Pertalite cargo is targeted for completion by Wednesday afternoon, allowing fuel distribution to petrol stations to resume at full capacity from the same day.
With the additional supply of 4,000 kl, Pertamina estimates that Pertalite stocks can meet distribution needs in Bengkulu for approximately seven to eight days.
“The 4,000 kl should last around seven to eight days before the next vessel arrives,” he said.
To maintain supply continuity, Pertamina has also scheduled the arrival of the next vessel for 28-29 August 2026. That vessel is expected to carry approximately 3,500 kl of Pertalite to Bengkulu.
Farid expressed hope that weather conditions will support shipping activities so that the next fuel tanker can arrive on schedule and not disrupt the continuity of Pertalite distribution to petrol stations.
Previously, fuel distribution from the Pulau Baai Terminal was temporarily halted for around three to four hours due to ship loading and unloading activities that required the implementation of safety measures within the terminal’s operational area.
“Because of loading and unloading activities at the port, we automatically held distribution at Pulau Baai first to ensure safety aspects in the Pulau Baai terminal operational area were secure. So yesterday distribution was indeed held for around three to four hours,” Farid said.
According to him, this situation caused several petrol stations in the city area to experience supply delays of around three to four hours. The delay in the vessel’s arrival was also influenced by weather conditions at sea.
Farid confirmed that Pertalite distribution has resumed and Pertamina continues to manage the arrival of subsequent vessels to ensure fuel availability in Bengkulu remains maintained.
“We hope that from today onwards the vessels will be on time and there will be no obstacles,” he said.
