Pertamina Drives Strengthening of Upstream Technology and Low-Carbon Solutions

PT Pertamina (Persero) and SLB are exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration in upstream oil and gas technology, digitalisation, and low-carbon solutions, utilising the momentum of state visits and bilateral engagement between the Indonesian and French governments.

This collaboration focuses on joint exploration of potential areas of cooperation in subsurface studies, multistage fracturing (MSF), unconventional resources, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), operational efficiency, carbon capture and storage (CCS), geothermal development, as well as the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to support operational optimisation.

The Deputy CEO of PT Pertamina (Persero), Oki Muramosa, stated that technological collaboration plays a vital role in strengthening energy security while supporting the transformation of the national energy sector.

“Pertamina continues to strengthen partnerships with global technology players to drive innovation that can improve operational performance, support increased oil and gas production, and accelerate the development of more efficient and sustainable energy solutions,” said Oki, as reported on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Both organisations have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening this collaboration and translating agreed priorities into concrete programmes that support energy security and Indonesia’s energy transition goals.
