Pertamina Drives Strengthening of Upstream Technology and Low-Carbon Solutions
PT Pertamina (Persero) and SLB are exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration in upstream oil and gas technology, digitalisation, and low-carbon solutions, leveraging the momentum of state visits and bilateral engagement between the governments of Indonesia and France. This collaboration focuses on joint exploration of potential areas of cooperation in subsurface studies, multistage fracturing (MSF), non-conventional resources, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), operational efficiency, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), geothermal development, as well as the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to support operational optimisation. Vice President Director and Deputy CEO of PT Pertamina (Persero), Oki Muraza, stated that technology collaboration plays an important role in strengthening energy security while supporting the transformation of the national energy sector. “Pertamina continues to strengthen partnerships with global technology players to drive innovation that can improve operational performance, support increased oil and gas production, and accelerate the development of more efficient and sustainable energy solutions,” Oki said, quoted on Tuesday (9/6/2026). Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening this collaboration and translating the agreed priorities into concrete programmes that support Indonesia’s energy security and energy transition goals.
