Pertamina Drives Post-Flash Flood Recovery Efforts in Solok Regency
PT Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra, continues to drive recovery efforts following the ‘galodo’ flash floods, after having rapidly distributed aid immediately after the floods struck Solok Regency late last month.
All efforts undertaken are a manifestation of the company’s concern for the communities surrounding its operational areas.
The emergency response period for the ‘galodo’ flash floods in Solok Regency has been set for 14 days, effective from 22 September to 5 October 2026. Local authorities are still evaluating the possibility of extending this status, with the decision depending on the progress of disaster management on the ground.
As part of the ongoing support for post-flood recovery in Solok Regency, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra distributed further aid at the Batang Barus Post. The assistance, provided on 2 October, included school supply kits for children, basic food packages, and extra nutrition for the Emergency Task Force (Satgas) supporting disaster management efforts.
During the event, the Regent of Solok, Jon Firman Pandu, expressed his highest appreciation for the support provided by Pertamina to the people of Solok Regency.
“Thank you for the support provided to us, both at the post and the aid for children affected who will return to school, including supplements for volunteers to ensure they remain healthy and strong. Once again, Pertamina Peduli is extraordinary. Today marks the second round of aid for Solok, and this is a massive thank you on behalf of the Local Government,” said Jon Firman.
Separately, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga North Sumatra, emphasised that Pertamina does not only focus on energy distribution but also carries out Social and Environmental Responsibility towards the community.
“Today, we have once again distributed aid for the needs of affected communities and the Task Force. We hope the assistance provided can help the post-flood recovery process in Solok Regency. Through this recovery support, Pertamina Patra Niaga reaffirms its commitment to always be present among the people. We hope the distributed aid can lighten the burden of affected residents while strengthening the synergy and good relations between the company, the government, and the community. Pertamina is present not only as a national energy provider but also as a social partner that cares about the condition of the community and the surrounding environment,” concluded Fahrougi.
