Pertamina Drilling Expands Non-Rig Services in Prabumulih Field
PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) is expanding its upstream oil and gas services through the development of High Pressure Pumping Non-Rig Services, marked by its first matrix acidizing operation at the Gunung Kemala (GNK)-104 Well in the Prabumulih Field, South Sumatra. The operation was carried out in collaboration with PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Zona 4. Aziz Muslim, Operations Director of Pertamina Drilling, stated that the successful execution of the first matrix acidizing job demonstrates the company’s readiness to deliver integrated and value-added upstream services. “We are committed to providing safe, reliable, and technological solutions to help increase oil and gas field productivity while supporting the achievement of national production targets,” he said. The matrix acidizing technology is applied to address formation damage and scale deposits, thereby optimising fluid flow from the reservoir to the well. Through this stimulation, the operation is targeted to improve well performance with a production goal of 65 barrels of oil per day (BOPD). He added that the development of High Pressure Pumping Non-Rig Services is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its energy services business and respond to the increasingly dynamic needs of the oil and gas industry. This achievement follows the success of hydraulic fracturing services carried out by Pertamina Drilling in PHR’s Zone 2 and Zone 3 working areas since January 2025. That experience serves as a foundation for the company to continue developing High Pressure Pumping Non-Rig Services as a strategic business line. With an increasingly complete non-rig service portfolio, the company is not only acting as a drilling service provider but also as a partner capable of delivering integrated solutions to optimise reservoir-to-well connectivity and increase oil and gas field productivity. “This capability development is in line with the company’s commitment to supporting national energy security through technological innovation, precise engineering, and operational excellence at every stage of oil and gas field development,” he said.
