Pertamina Drilling expands energy collaboration with Weatherford
PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) is expanding its strategic collaboration with global energy services company Weatherford through the exploration of cooperation opportunities in the oil and gas sector as well as geothermal energy.
“This partnership is part of Pertamina Drilling’s commitment to continue delivering world-class drilling services through collaboration with global partners that have the best experience and technology,” said Pertamina Drilling President Director Avep Disasmita in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
The cooperation opportunities being explored by the two companies include the provision of drilling services, formation evaluation, well construction and completion, well intervention, and production optimisation in the geothermal, oil, and gas sectors.
In addition, the cooperation also covers the development of human resource competencies as well as other supporting services.
Weatherford, which is based in Switzerland, is known as an energy services company with expertise in drilling services, formation evaluation, well construction and completion, as well as intervention and production optimisation based on modern technology and integrated digital solutions.
Pertamina Drilling and Weatherford also agreed to jointly identify market opportunities in oil, gas, and geothermal drilling, including technical services and capacity development programmes.
Furthermore, both parties will discuss various options to develop and realise these opportunities together.
“We are optimistic that this synergy will open new business opportunities, strengthen human resource competency development, and provide added value for the oil, gas, and geothermal industry in Indonesia as well as international markets,” said Avep.
According to Avep, the collaboration with Weatherford is also expected to encourage the application of more efficient, safe, and sustainable technology in supporting the development of the national energy sector.
