Pertamina distributes school uniforms, basic food packages, and business empowerment aid

PT Pertamina (Persero) has carried out a social initiative to share benefits with the community through its ‘Seragam Sekolah untuk Semua’ (Sesama) school uniform programme, ‘Pasar Murah Sembako’ (Pusako) subsidised basic food market, and the launch of ‘Ultra Mikro Pertamina Aksi’ (Umimax).

Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun stated that the company supports the implementation of these Pertamina Group social programmes. During the event, attended by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of Pertamina Group in Jakarta on Friday (10/7/2026), Pertamina distributed 1,000 packages of school uniforms and supplies through the Sesama programme.

Pertamina also provided 1,000 subsidised basic food packages through the Pusako programme, with all proceeds from sales being channelled to orphanages and places of worship. Meanwhile, the Umimax programme delivers assistance in the form of productive business facilities, training, and ultra-micro business empowerment for underprivileged communities.

These programmes target various community groups, including online and conventional motorcycle taxi drivers, compressed natural gas (CNG) bajaj drivers, honorary teachers, persons with disabilities, public infrastructure and facilities maintenance officers (PPSU), and firefighting personnel. “Assistance is also provided to underprivileged communities around Pertamina’s operational areas,” Roberth explained.

Roberth added that the programme supports the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s priority programmes in poverty alleviation and strengthening food security. “The energy we distribute every day ultimately flows back into the lives of the community. Therefore, we want Pertamina’s care to also be present in forms that are close to their needs, from helping children attend school, meeting family needs, to opening opportunities for people to build businesses and improve their welfare,” said Roberth.

He expressed hope that each form of assistance provided would become the beginning of a new spirit for the beneficiaries. One Umimax programme beneficiary, Suwandi, said the business cart assistance he received served as motivation to develop his business into a source of livelihood for himself and his child. “This assistance means a lot to me. Thank you, Pertamina. I hope you continue to progress and keep helping the community,” he said.

Sesama programme beneficiary Uke, along with her son Lionel, also expressed gratitude for the assistance received. “I am very happy because there is a cheap market and affordable basic food. For Rp30,000, I got rice, cooking oil, sugar, biscuits, coffee, and more,” said Adenia, an online motorcycle taxi driver who received a Pusako basic food package.
