Pertamina distributes aid to 1,000 residents following Manggarai earthquake

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has distributed humanitarian aid to around 1,000 residents affected by the earthquake in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“Through the distribution of logistical aid, energy supplies, and the construction of emergency tents, we hope to help ease the burden on the community and support the post-disaster recovery process,” said Kitty Andhora, Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She said the assistance reflects the company’s commitment to being present and providing support for communities facing difficult times due to the disaster.

The aid distributed covers various basic needs following the disaster, including 340 kilograms of rice, 90 cartons of mineral water, 30 cartons of instant noodles, 300 pieces of bread, staple food packages, baby supplies, and hygiene and health equipment.

To support the smooth running of emergency response efforts and the mobilisation of aid in the affected areas, Pertamina Patra Niaga also distributed 1 kilolitre of Pertamina Dex.

In addition to meeting food, health and energy needs, Pertamina Patra Niaga has also helped provide emergency tents as temporary shelter for residents whose homes were affected by the earthquake.

“The presence of these tents is expected to provide a sense of safety and comfort for the community during the post-disaster recovery period,” she said.

A resident who received aid, Rosalia Ojam, expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by Pertamina Patra Niaga to the earthquake-affected community.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude for Pertamina Patra Niaga’s assistance, which has allowed us to rest inside the tents and meet our daily needs following the earthquake. This aid means a great deal to us amid the difficult conditions we are still facing,” she said.
