Jayapura – Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku distributed 2,000 school supply packages to primary school students, orphans, and disadvantaged communities in Jayapura city in support of local education.
Area Manager for Communications, Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku, Ispiani Abbas, stated in Jayapura on Monday that the initiative was undertaken to commemorate the first anniversary of Danantara’s establishment and to demonstrate the company’s commitment to young people in eastern Indonesia.
“We are distributing 2,000 school packages containing school bags, stationery, and water bottles to children so they can be more motivated to study and are not hindered by economic limitations,” she said following the distribution of school supplies in Jayapura, Papua, on Monday.
According to Ispiani, the aid distribution was carried out at multiple locations across Jayapura city, including YPK 1 Sion Dok VIII Primary School, YPK 1 Sion Dok VIII Junior Secondary School, YPK Paulus Dok V Primary School, Hikmah 2 Yapis Dok V Primary School, and Muhammadiyah Abepura Orphanage.
“This activity is part of our gratitude for Danantara’s one-year journey in strengthening the socio-economic pillars of the community whilst supporting the sustainability of education for Papuan children as the nation’s future generation,” she explained.
She noted that Pertamina and Danantara wanted their presence to be truly felt by the community, particularly children as Indonesia’s golden generation.
“We hope this school supply assistance can provide additional motivation for students to continue learning and pursue their aspirations,” she added.
She further stated that through this programme, they can create a positive impact on increasing children’s enthusiasm for learning and contribute towards improving educational quality in the Papua region.
