Jakarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) has dispatched more than 5,000 homebound travellers bound for 23 destinations across Java, utilising 153 buses through the Mudik Bersama 2026 programme.

Pertamina’s Principal Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan stated that the programme demonstrates the company’s concern for the public who wish to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in their hometowns.

“I appreciate all Pertamina officers who have worked diligently in organising this highly beneficial programme for our society. Mudik is not merely a journey home, but a journey that carries the heart to reunite with family in their respective hometowns,” Iriawan said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

He added that the Mudik Bersama activity also reflects the spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation that are important values in Indonesian cultural traditions, particularly during the Eid season.

Pertamina has again organised the Mudik Bersama programme in 2026 under the theme “Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope”. The Mudik Bersama programme is one form of commitment by the national oil company to support smooth public mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr, whilst providing safe, comfortable, and joyful travel for all participants.

Deputy Director Oki Muraza stated that the mudik tradition holds profound significance for Indonesian society. Therefore, Pertamina wishes to contribute support so that journeys home can proceed safely and comfortably.

“Mudik is not merely a journey home. Mudik is longing in motion, happiness that we celebrate together, and kinship ties that must always be strengthened,” he said.

For Pertamina, the Mudik Bersama programme is a tangible manifestation of the company’s commitment to be present during momentous occasions for Indonesian society. Aligned with the theme “Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope”, Pertamina also collaborates with various partners to realise a safe, comfortable, and blessed journey for all participants.

The collaboration encompasses transport fleet support and provision of various supporting facilities throughout the activity.

“We have provided 153 buses to serve 23 destinations across Java with a total of more than 5,000 participants, including members of the public and Pertamina workers,” Oki said.

Furthermore, he stated that this activity is not merely a ceremony to dispatch homebound travellers, but also a symbol of hope for thousands of people wishing to reunite with their loved ones.

“Through this event, we not only dispatch travellers, but also release thousands of hopes to return home. Hope to reunite with beloved families, hope to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with great joy, and hope to recall various beautiful moments in their hometowns,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to all partners who have contributed to the success of Pertamina’s Mudik Bersama programme this year.

“We extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to all partners who have worked hard. This dedication demonstrates that Pertamina not only supplies energy to the nation, but also brings the energy of happiness to society,” he said.

Through the Mudik Bersama 2026 programme, Pertamina hopes to provide tangible benefits to society while strengthening the spirit of togetherness as Indonesia welcomes Eid al-Fitr. According to Oki, the programme is also part of Pertamina’s commitment to continue supporting various community needs, including during important moments such as the Eid homecoming tradition.
