Pertamina Dex Price Rises, Full Tank for Hyundai Palisade Nears Rp 2 Million

JAKARTA – The increase in the price of non-subsidised diesel fuel is once again having a major impact, particularly on owners of large-capacity diesel-engine SUVs such as the Hyundai Palisade, especially the first- and second-generation models. With a large engine capacity and a jumbo fuel tank, changes in the price per litre are immediately felt significantly during a full fill-up. As of Monday, 4 May 2026, the price of Pertamina Dex has risen to Rp 27,900 per litre from the previous Rp 23,900 per litre. Meanwhile, Dexlite is now priced at Rp 26,000 per litre, up from Rp 23,600 per litre, and previously at Rp 14,200 per litre. For illustration, the diesel Hyundai Palisade is equipped with a 2,200 cc CRDi engine producing 202 PS or equivalent to 200 hp and 441 Nm of torque. With the latest Pertamina Dex price of Rp 27,900 per litre, the cost of a full tank now reaches approximately Rp 1,980,900. Previously, when the price was still Rp 23,900 per litre, the full fill-up cost was Rp 1,696,900. This means an increase of around Rp 284,000 for a single fill-up. If compared to the old price of Rp 14,500 per litre, the difference even reaches more than Rp 950,000. When the previous price was Rp 23,600 per litre, the full tank cost was still around Rp 1,675,600, or an increase of about Rp 170,400. Compared to the old price of Rp 14,200 per litre, the total surge reaches more than Rp 830,000. With the current situation, the cost difference between Pertamina Dex and Dexlite for a single full fill-up reaches around Rp 134,900, making Dexlite a slightly more affordable option. However, for Palisade diesel users, fuel selection must still consider quality, given that modern engines require fuel with specific specifications.
