Pertamina Dex Price Hike Pushes Hyundai Palisade Fuel Fill-Up Costs to This Amount

JAKARTA – The increase in prices of non-subsidised fuels such as Pertamina Dex and Dexlite, effective Saturday, 18 April 2026, directly impacts the operational costs of diesel vehicles. One vehicle affected is the diesel-engined Hyundai Palisade, which now requires substantially higher costs for a full tank fill-up. This premium SUV has a fuel tank capacity of 71 litres. Before the price hike, when Pertamina Dex was priced at Rp 14,500 per litre, the cost for a full tank was around Rp 1,029,500. A similar situation applies to Dexlite usage. When the price was still Rp 14,200 per litre, the full fill-up cost was Rp 1,008,200. Now, after the price rise to Rp 23,600 per litre, that cost has jumped to Rp 1,675,600. This surge represents an increase of nearly Rp 600,000 for a single full fill-up, whether using Pertamina Dex or Dexlite. For context, the diesel Hyundai Palisade is equipped with a 2,200 cc engine capable of producing 194 PS of power, equivalent to 192 hp at 3,800 rpm, and 425 Nm of torque at 1,750–2,750 rpm. This performance keeps it a choice in the large SUV segment, particularly for long-distance travel and varied terrains. With the sharp fuel price increase, diesel vehicle users like those with the Palisade need to recalculate their daily usage costs, especially for those accustomed to routine full fill-ups.
