Pertamina Deploys 415-Vessel Fleet to Safeguard Energy Supply During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr
PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) has mobilised 415 support vessels to ensure uninterrupted distribution of national energy supplies during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period, designated as Task Force RAFI 2026.
The fleet, predominantly comprising Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, tugboats, and small craft, has been deployed to support maritime activities, port operations, and the provision of escort services for tankers carrying strategic energy products throughout Indonesian waters.
This readiness is deemed essential to maintain the stability of national energy supplies amid increasing population mobility, transportation activities, and energy demands during Ramadan and the subsequent Eid holiday exodus.
Given Indonesia’s substantial dependence on maritime routes for energy distribution, marine services play a vital role in ensuring uninterrupted energy logistics supply chains.
Through its Fleet Readiness and Deployment strategy, PTK ensures that hundreds of marine support vessels stand ready to support energy port activities at strategic locations throughout Indonesia.
The fleet assists with tanker berthing and departure procedures, port navigation, and cargo-handling operations at energy terminals. PTK’s tugboat, AHTS, and small craft services enable tankers transporting fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, crude oil, and other energy products to operate efficiently, safely, and on schedule, whilst maintaining the reliability of the national energy supply chain that underpins the logistics infrastructure of the archipelago nation.
Beyond operational efficiency, PTK prioritises safety through the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards in all maritime activities. HSSE implementation encompasses vessel operational oversight, crew readiness, and risk mitigation protocols for safety and marine environmental protection during energy distribution operations.
As the intensity of energy distribution activities increases during the RAFI period, the application of these safety standards becomes crucial to ensure all maritime operations proceed safely, reliably, and sustainably.
I Ketut Laba, Chief Executive Officer of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental, affirmed that the readiness of the marine services fleet forms part of the company’s commitment to maintaining reliable national energy distribution. As an integrated maritime services company, PTK plays a strategic role in ensuring energy port activities and tanker operations can proceed safely, efficiently, and reliably.
“Through the readiness of these 415 marine service vessels, we aim to ensure that national energy distribution remains secure during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, whilst strengthening PTK’s role as a strategic partner within Pertamina Group’s energy logistics ecosystem,” he stated.
Through its integrated fleet readiness and operational services, PTK reaffirms its role as an enabler of national energy distribution within the Pertamina Group ecosystem. These maritime services ensure not only the smooth operation of energy ports and tanker movements but also the reliability of energy supply chains for industry, transportation, and household consumption.
Committed to safety, operational reliability, and collaboration within the national energy ecosystem, PTK contributes to ensuring that the public can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with peace of mind, supported by stable energy supplies throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
