JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Pertamina (Persero) has responded to rumours circulating on social media regarding a price increase for non-subsidised fuel oil. The information claims that the price of Pertamax will rise significantly starting April 2026. In a document circulating on platform X, the price of Pertamax is said to increase by Rp 5,550 to Rp 17,850 per litre from the previous Rp 12,300 per litre. The price of Pertamax Turbo is also said to rise by Rp 6,350 to Rp 19,450 per litre from the previous Rp 13,100 per litre. Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, affirmed that there has been no official decision regarding the adjustment of fuel oil prices. “The information on the projected fuel oil price increase that is circulating cannot be held accountable; to date, there has been no official announcement regarding prices as of 1 April 2026,” he stated when confirmed by Kompas.com on Monday (30/3/2026). The Director General of Oil and Natural Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Laode Sulaeman, also urged the public not to speculate. He emphasised that the decision regarding non-subsidised fuel prices is still awaiting the official announcement on 1 April 2026. “For non-subsidised fuel, let’s just wait until 1 April. The important thing is that there is no increase for subsidised fuel,” Laode said.
