PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan states that the increased queues of vehicles at several public fuel filling stations (SPBU) in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan, are not due to shortages. “The queuing conditions that are occurring are not caused by shortages, but rather an increase in consumption activity at the same time,” said Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Edi Mangun, in a statement received in Palangka Raya on Thursday, 7 May 2026. To this end, the company is ensuring ongoing optimisation of field distribution in line with the increased vehicle queues at several SPBU in Palangka Raya. Pertamina also assures that distribution is running smoothly and stocks of fuel, both Pertalite and Pertamax, are available to meet public needs. Pertamina further confirms that fuel stocks at all SPBU in the Palangka Raya region are in available condition. “Pertamina is currently scheduling periodic deliveries from the Pulang Pisau Fuel Terminal to ensure even stock distribution across the entire Palangka Raya area and surroundings, so that services to the public can run more optimally,” Edi explained. Edi added that the increase in vehicle density and the sudden spike in fuel demand at SPBU require more intensive stock management. The distribution process from the Fuel Terminal to SPBU, including loading and unloading stages, also takes time, especially when there is additional supply demand from SPBU. “For SPBU experiencing consumption spikes, Pertamina promptly carries out deliveries adjusted to each SPBU’s needs, so that distribution continues to run and public needs can be met,” Edi continued. Pertamina continues to intensively monitor distribution and coordinates with the Palangka Raya City Government, Transportation Department, and local Police to assist in managing queues in the field to keep them orderly and not disrupt traffic flow. Pertamina appeals to the public to remain calm, avoid excessive purchases (panic buying), and refuel according to needs and applicable provisions so that distribution can run more smoothly and evenly. Pertamina also invites the public to manage fuel consumption wisely amid global energy dynamics, so that fuel use is not excessive, and distribution remains smooth for all society.
