Pertamina Delivers 200 Education Aid Packages to 4 Foundations in Banyuwangi
A warm and cheerful atmosphere filled the grounds of the Tanjung Wangi Integrated Terminal office in Banyuwangi. Amidst the operational bustle of energy distribution, PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Jatimbalinus took time to share happiness with children from underprivileged families through the Seragam Sekolah Bersama Pertamina (SESAMA) and Pertamina Berkah programmes.
Coinciding with a blessed Friday, Pertamina demonstrated its social commitment by handing over 200 educational aid packages comprising uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and cash assistance to primary and junior secondary school students. The beneficiaries came from four foundations in East Java: Yayasan Salafiyah Syafi’iyah As’adiyah Ibrahimy, Yayasan Darussalam, Yayasan Syamsul Huda, and Yayasan Datuk Abdurrahim Bauzir.
The assistance offers new hope for hundreds of recipients, enabling them to study more calmly without burdening their parents. Particularly as the new school year approaches, school necessities that should be a priority are sometimes overshadowed by the need to meet other basic requirements.
PT Pertamina (Persero) President Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan stated that the programme is a tangible manifestation of Pertamina’s concern for supporting the nation’s future generation. "Education is the key to unlocking the door to a better future. We at Pertamina are present not only to distribute energy physically, but also to channel spirit and hope to our children in need," said Mochamad Iriawan. "May this assistance encourage the young students in Banyuwangi to continue studying diligently and to reach their highest aspirations," he added.
The activity continued with the distribution of aid to mosque caretakers and the poor residing around the operational area of the Tanjung Wangi Integrated Terminal, as an expression of gratitude and Pertamina’s commitment to strengthening community ties. The social activities were held alongside the working visit agenda of PT Pertamina (Persero) President Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan to the Tanjung Wangi Integrated Terminal. The visit aimed to ensure that the facilities for receiving, storing, and distributing energy at the eastern tip of Java and its surroundings are operating optimally to support the smooth distribution of fuel and LPG.
For Pertamina, energy is not just about the fuel that powers engines, but also about the positive energy that drives the social life of the community. "Through the synergy between operational reliability and social concern, Pertamina is committed to ensuring that the company’s presence delivers real and sustainable benefits to the wider community," he concluded.
