Pertamina cuts gasoline price
JAKARTA (JP): State oil company Pertamina has cut the prices of unleaded Super TT gasoline and 35 lubricants, the company announced yesterday.
Spokesman Didi Sunarwinadi said Pertamina had cut Super TT gasoline's price from Rp 1,000 (US$ 0.4) a liter to Rp 975 a liter, and the prices of 35 lubricants for vehicles and industry by between 5 percent and 20 percent.
The price cut would make Super TT gasoline competitive with Premix gasoline, which rose to Rp 925 a liter on Nov. 30, he said.
Premix gasoline is produced by a group of private companies.
The 35 lubricants include Silinap 160M, Silinap 220 M, Sebana 120, Sebana 170, Sebana 90, Mesran Prima 20W-50, Mesran Prm 20W- 50, Mesran Prm 20-50XP, Mesran Spr 20-50XP, Gemuk Pert Sg, Grease BG 300, Mobil Grease Mp, Gemuk Pert 2, Gemuk Pert 3, Gemuk Pert TS2, Gemuk Pert Ep 1 Nl, Gemuk Pert Ep 2 Nl, Mobil Grease AA2, Mobil Lux 2, Mobil Lux 3 and Mobil Lux Ep 2.
The prices fell on Dec. 9.
"The price reduction is part of Pertamina's support for the government's Blue Sky Program," he said.
The Blue Sky Program was launched several months ago to promote unleaded gasoline.
You can buy Super TT gasoline at eight gas stations in Jakarta: on Jl. Diponegoro and Jl. HOS Cokroaminoto in Central Jakarta; on Jl. Meruya Ilir in West Jakarta; on Jl. Kayu Putih and Jl. Pemuda in East Jakarta; on Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta; and on Jl. Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta.
Didi said Pertamina had recently started producing a smokeless lubricant, Mesrania 2T Enviro, for two-stroke machines and synthetic air coolers.
He said the Japanese Automobile Standard Organization had certified the lubricant as best quality, recommending it for Japanese motorbikes.
It was also considered environmentally sound because it would reduce smoke from two-stroke engines.
The new lubricant costs Rp 5,200 a liter at retailers, he said. (jsk)
