Pertamina completes three undersea pipelines spanning 21.24 km

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) has completed the construction of three undersea pipelines spanning 21.24 kilometres, integrated under the Pipeline Renew and Replacement Project (PRRP) to secure oil and gas production.

“This proactive step through the ongoing 202cap PRRP programme minimises the risk of operational disruptions and maintains the integrity of the undersea pipeline facilities,” stated Muzwir Wiratama, General Manager of PHE ONWJ, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.

The completion of these three undersea pipelines took place during the first half of 2026. The completed pipelines include the UWJ-B1C line, connecting production flow from the Uniform area to Bravo; the EF-EA line, securing distribution in the Echo area; and the BG-BC line in the Bravo area.

“This strategic project for PHE ONWJ to maintain oil and gas production was successfully completed safely and on time,” he said.

He explained that the offshore installation work for the PRRP project was carried out over 169 days starting from 31 October 2025, finishing 10 days ahead of the target completion date. Throughout the project execution, occupational safety was the top priority, achieving a total of 854,765 safe man-hours.

Muzwir noted that the completion of the undersea pipeline network across these three lines plays a crucial role in the continuity of Pertamina’s operations. With the newly reliable infrastructure, PHE ONWJ has successfully ensured the reliability of oil and gas production flows amounting to 3,895 BOPD and 6.9 MMSCFD, which are transported from these wells.

Entering the second half of 2026, the PRRP programme still has one pipeline line remaining, namely the BC-BPRO pipeline. With a pipeline length of 2.78 kilometres, the execution of the PRRP programme is scheduled for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026.

Furthermore, in 2027, the PRRP team plans to undertake reinstatement work on the BF-BK-BPRO and FK-FC pipeline lines to continue maintaining the reliability of PHE ONWJ’s oil and gas distribution infrastructure.

“This effort is a manifestation of PHE ONWJ’s commitment to supporting the achievement of energy security,” said Muzwir. The successful securing of oil and gas flows across these three lines is expected to continue contributing positively and support the achievement of national oil and gas production targets set by the government.
