Pertamina Completes Streamlining of 31 Subsidiaries
PT Pertamina (Persero) has completed the business streamlining of 31 entities in the first half of 2026. This was conveyed by Pertamina’s Director of Transformation and Business Sustainability, Agung Wicaksono. “This streamlining is part of Pertamina’s ongoing transformation, which is also in line with the aspirations of the Government and Danantara,” said Agung Wicaksono. Agung stated that the restructuring programme is one of Pertamina’s strategic priorities. Its ultimate goal is to strengthen national energy security, provide better service to the public, and deliver greater added value for the national economy. The programme is designed to sharpen the focus on the core business, build excellence and competitiveness, thereby creating sustainable added value. Pertamina is also reorganising and streamlining the group structure through mergers, divestment of non-core businesses, and the liquidation of dormant entities, particularly in the upstream oil and gas sector. This action aims to increase decision-making speed, efficiency, and the quality of governance. “Although the dormant upstream oil and gas entities have had no expenditure, either for operations or for directors’ or commissioners’ salaries, we still liquidated them as part of the effort to tidy up the Pertamina Group structure,” said Agung. Agung stated that this subsidiary restructuring programme does not stop at corporate actions but also encompasses the company’s transformation to enhance excellence, strengthen governance quality, and improve service quality to the public. Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, added that Pertamina ensures every process undertaken and decision made meets the principles of good governance in managing this subsidiary restructuring programme. The company also ensures that risk management is carried out comprehensively and complies with applicable rules and laws. Pertamina is also coordinating with law enforcement officials, auditors, Danantara, BP BUMN, various external agencies and institutions, as well as internal stakeholders such as labour unions.
