Pertamina Commissioner Stresses Innovation, Professionalism, and Empathy as Key to Public Service
Innovation, professionalism, and empathy must be the main foundation in every service to the public, both in the health sector and social empowerment programmes. This message from the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mochamad Iriawan, was the common thread in a series of Management Walkthroughs (MWT), direct management inspections, conducted in several of Pertamina’s operational areas in East Java.
During a visit to the IHC Perkebunan Jember Klinik hospital in Jember on Thursday, 2 July, Iriawan stressed that the quality of health services is not solely determined by the completeness of facilities and technology, but also by the sincerity, friendliness, and empathy of healthcare workers in serving patients. At the hospital located on Jalan Bedadung, Kaliwates, Iriawan inspected various main facilities, ranging from Medical Check Up (MCU) services, a 24-hour Emergency Unit (IGD), inpatient rooms, specialist polyclinics, a laboratory, to the pharmacy installation.
The man familiarly known as Iwan Bule appreciated the performance of all staff at the IHC Perkebunan Jember Klinik, whom he assessed had successfully delivered professional yet empathetic health services. “RS IHC Perkebunan Jember Klinik has shown that quality health services are born from the professionalism, dedication, and sincerity of all hospital personnel. Maintain the public trust that has been built through hard work all this time,” Iriawan said.
According to him, the challenges in the health sector will become increasingly complex with the times. Therefore, the development of facilities and the utilisation of cutting-edge medical technology must go hand in hand with improving the quality of human resources. “Continue to innovate, improve competence, and maintain friendliness and empathy towards every patient. Friendliness is the soul of health service, while professionalism is the foundation in providing the best service to the public,” he stated.
The former Acting Governor of West Java added that a work culture that upholds sincerity, inclusivity, preparedness, dedication, and professionalism must be maintained so that public trust is preserved. “It is these values that make a hospital not only superior in terms of facilities, but also trusted by the public,” he said. Before concluding his visit, Iriawan expressed his appreciation to all healthcare workers who have been at the forefront of service.
