Pertamina Clarifies Confusion Over Vehicle Registration Requirement for Fuel Purchases

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has emphasised that information regarding the mandatory presentation of vehicle registration documents (STNK) as a requirement for purchasing fuel at petrol stations is not a national policy. The mechanism was intended as a local monitoring plan specifically for the South Sumatra region.

In response to information that has spread widely and caused public anxiety, Pertamina Patras Niaga has decided to cancel the planned implementation of this mechanism. Fuel purchase regulations will continue to adhere to existing national regulations and provisions.

Kitty Andhora, VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the company is paying close attention to public feedback regarding the information originating from South Sumatra, which escalated into a national discussion and caused public discomfort.

“We understand the public’s response and concern regarding the circulating information. Therefore, we have instructed Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional South Sumatra to cancel the implementation of this mechanism. We also apologise for the inconvenience caused by the developing information and the resulting national misunderstanding,” said Kitty.
