Pertamina Chief Commissioner Reviews Energy Supply Reliability in East Nusa Tenggara

Pertamina Chief Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan conducted a direct inspection of several operational facilities in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to ensure the reliability of energy supply and the smooth distribution of fuel in the region. The working visit, which took place on Friday, 12 June 2026, is part of Pertamina’s operational oversight agenda across East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. Iriawan visited a number of strategic points that serve as the backbone of energy distribution in NTT. Locations inspected included the Timor Raya Oesapa public fuel station (SPBU), the El Tari Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT), and the Tenau Integrated Terminal, which acts as the energy distribution hub for the Nusa Tenggara Timur region and its surroundings. The visit began at the Timor Raya Oesapa SPBU in Kupang, where Iriawan reviewed the readiness of public service facilities and engaged directly with consumers to gather feedback on fuel availability and service quality. This step was taken to ensure energy distribution runs smoothly down to the retailer level, while also understanding the various challenges faced by the public in accessing energy. From the SPBU, Iriawan proceeded to the El Tari Aviation Fuel Terminal. This facility plays a vital role in guaranteeing the availability of avtur, which is essential for the air transport sector in East Nusa Tenggara. According to Iriawan, the continuity of energy supply, including aviation fuel, is a critical factor in maintaining inter-regional connectivity and supporting economic activities. The visit concluded with a Management Walkthrough at the Tenau Integrated Terminal. This energy terminal, which has been operating since 1968, is one of Pertamina’s strategic facilities supporting the distribution of fuel and LPG in the NTT region. During the inspection, Iriawan examined various main facilities supporting terminal operations, including the operations control centre, storage tanks, energy receiving facilities, and the fuel and LPG loading and unloading jetty.
