Pertamina Boosts LPG Supply by 1.5 Million Cylinders for Idul Adha Holiday in Central Java and Yogyakarta
Marking the Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah and the extended holiday in late May 2026, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Central Java Region (JBT) has increased the supply of 3kg LPG cylinders in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The additional supply of 1,567,660 cylinders is nearly equivalent to the region’s average daily household consumption.
Specifically for the Banyumas area, the daily 3kg LPG allocation for May 2026 is set at 233,223 cylinders. Additionally, Pertamina has prepared facultative and extra delivery of 231,160 cylinders to address anticipated demand spikes during Idul Adha.
Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR in Central Java, Taufiq Kurniawan, stated that the supplementary supply is being delivered through two mechanisms. “First, a facultative delivery of 1,048,440 cylinders on 27 May 2026. This scheme involves additional distribution outside regular working days to ensure stock remains secure during public holidays,” he explained.
Secondly, an extra supply of 519,220 cylinders will be delivered in the fourth week of May 2026. This measure aims to rapidly bolster stock levels at distribution points as household consumption rises ahead of Idul Adha.
Taufiq added that the increased supply ensures households can easily access subsidized LPG during the holiday period. “We are ensuring the additional 3kg LPG supply maintains reliable stock at the grassroots level, so the public need not worry about availability during Idul Adha celebrations,” he said.
The additional cylinders comprise 1,087,860 for Central Java and 479,800 for DIY. Pertamina hopes this will allow communities to observe Idul Adha rituals and enjoy the extended holiday with peace of mind.
He noted that household LPG consumption typically surges during Idul Adha, especially for large-scale cooking needs within families and communities.
Besides securing subsidized LPG availability, Pertamina also urged financially capable households to use non-subsidised Bright Gas cylinders (5.5kg and 12kg) to ensure subsidies reach those most in need.
“Despite the ample supply, we advise the public to consume energy responsibly and purchase 3kg LPG only from official Pertamina distributors. This guarantees stock availability and government-mandated pricing,” Taufiq stated.
