PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) at the Ministry of Finance have strengthened their synergy through a cooperative compliance programme encompassing a Tax Control Framework (TCF) and tax data integration. The move is part of efforts to build a more modern, transparent, and trust-based tax administration. In its implementation, Pertamina has become the first taxpayer in Indonesia to serve as a pilot project for the application of the TCF and tax data integration with the DGT. Pertamina’s Finance Director, Mega Satria, welcomed the trust placed by the Government, particularly the Ministry of Finance and the Directorate General of Taxes. “This trust is a responsibility we carry out with full commitment. For Pertamina, this collaboration is not merely about strengthening the tax system, but also part of efforts to reinforce governance across the entire Pertamina Group by prioritising transparency, accountability, and compliance,” Mega said during the kick-off for the Cooperative Compliance Programme trial in Jakarta. Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, expressed his appreciation to Pertamina as a partner in the trial implementation of Cooperative Compliance. “We extend our appreciation to PT Pertamina (Persero) for its commitment and openness in becoming the first partner in this trial. With the support of the Tax Control Framework and data integration, tax risks can be identified earlier, providing legal certainty, reducing compliance costs, and minimising the potential for disputes,” Bimo stated. As a state-owned enterprise mandated to safeguard national energy security, Pertamina views tax compliance as an inseparable part of implementing good corporate governance. Tax is not merely an administrative obligation, but also a manifestation of the company’s contribution to supporting national development and improving public welfare. This commitment is reflected in Pertamina’s contribution to the state, which over the past three years has reached Rp1,188 trillion through taxes, dividends, Non-Tax State Revenue, and various other fiscal obligations. Pertamina’s participation in this trial is a continuation of the company’s tax transformation, which began with the signing of a data integration memorandum of understanding with the Directorate General of Taxes in 2019. Since then, Pertamina has continued to strengthen tax management through the implementation of the Tax Control Framework, system harmonisation with Coretax, and the integration of tax processes with various corporate digital systems. Mega added that this step is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the Directorate General of Taxes and taxpayers through the use of integrated data, thereby supporting the creation of a tax system that upholds transparency with the latest digital technology.
