Pertamina assures non-subsidised LPG supply is sufficient in Sulawesi

Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has assured that non-subsidised LPG supplies across Sulawesi are sufficient, in both the 5.5 kilogram and 12 kilogram sizes.

“Beyond the public service obligation (PSO) to distribute subsidised 3 kg LPG, we must also maintain the availability of non-subsidised products so that people can easily obtain fuel energy,” said Lilik Hardiyanto, Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, in a written statement received in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday.

He explained that Pertamina had adjusted the price of non-subsidised LPG, effective from 14 June 2026.

For the Sulawesi region, the price of the 5.5 kilogram non-subsidised LPG cylinder was reduced from Rp111,000 to Rp107,000 per cylinder, a fall of Rp4,000.

Meanwhile, the 12 kilogram cylinder fell from Rp230,000 to Rp222,000 per cylinder, a decrease of Rp8,000.

Lilik said the price adjustment formed part of a periodic evaluation that takes into account market dynamics and prevailing mechanisms, so that the public can enjoy quality LPG at increasingly competitive prices.

“Non-subsidised products are offered as an alternative to consumers. So people need not worry, because LPG availability is very adequate,” he said.

He added that the Bright Gas LPG brand offers several advantages, from maintained quality and safer cylinders equipped with a double spindle valve system (DSVS), to ease of access through Pertamina’s distribution network spread across various regions.

The subsidised 3 kilogram LPG product, meanwhile, is reserved for a specific segment (the poor), as regulated by the government.

In line with that policy, businesses in the eight sectors no longer permitted to use subsidised products — restaurants, hotels, laundry businesses, batik businesses, livestock farming, agriculture, tobacco farming, and welding services — are expected to switch to non-subsidised products.

“This is so that the distribution of subsidised LPG is better targeted and can be enjoyed by those entitled to receive it,” said Lilik.

He added that Bright Gas can be easily obtained at petrol stations, non-subsidised agents, Bright Stores, and official Pertamina outlets across various parts of Sulawesi.

“Information on the latest prices and Bright Gas sales locations can be accessed via the MyPertamina application and Pertamina’s official information channels,” said Lilik.
