Pertamina assures non-subsidised LPG supply is sufficient in Sulawesi

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has confirmed that the availability of non-subsidised LPG across Sulawesi is sufficient, covering both the 5.5 kg and 12 kg canister sizes. “In addition to the PSO assignment for subsidised 3 kg LPG, we must also maintain the availability of non-subsidised products to make it easier for the public to obtain fuel energy,” said Lilik Hardiyanto, Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, in a written statement received in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday. He explained that Pertamina has adjusted the price of non-subsidised LPG, effective from 14 June 2026. For the Sulawesi region, the price of a 5.5 kg non-subsidised LPG canister has been reduced from Rp111,000 to Rp107,000, a decrease of Rp4,000. Meanwhile, the 12 kg canister has been reduced from Rp230,000 to Rp222,000, a drop of Rp8,000 per canister. Lilik stated that the price adjustment is part of a periodic evaluation considering market dynamics and prevailing mechanisms, allowing consumers to enjoy quality LPG products at more competitive prices. “The provision of non-subsidised products serves as an alternative offered to consumers. Therefore, the public need not worry, as LPG availability is very adequate,” he said. He also noted that the Bright Gas brand LPG offers several advantages, including maintained quality, safer canisters equipped with a double spindle valve system (DSVS), and easy access through Pertamina’s widespread distribution network. Meanwhile, subsidised 3 kg LPG is specifically designated for certain segments, namely low-income communities, as regulated by the government. In line with this policy, business operators in eight sectors that are no longer permitted to use subsidised products—restaurants, hotels, laundry services, batik businesses, livestock farming, agriculture, tobacco farming, and welding services—are expected to switch to non-subsidised products. “So that the distribution of subsidised LPG is increasingly targeted and can be enjoyed by those entitled to receive it,” Lilik remarked. He added that Bright Gas products can be easily obtained at petrol stations, non-subsidised agents, Bright Stores, and official Pertamina outlets spread across various regions of Sulawesi. “Information regarding the latest prices and sales locations for Bright Gas can be accessed through the MyPertamina application and Pertamina’s official information channels,” Lilik concluded.
