JAKARTA — Pertamina Patra Niaga has assured that energy supplies, including fuel (BBM) and elpiji, are in a safe condition to meet the public’s needs during Ramadan up to the period ahead of Idul Fitri. Accordingly, the public is urged to buy according to need, not excessively or panic-buy, let alone hoard. ‘We continue to ensure the availability of BBM and elpiji for the public,’ said Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, in a statement on Friday (6 March 2026). Pertamina projects that consumption of petrol, namely Pertalite and Pertamax etc, will rise by 12 percent from normal consumption. Meanwhile, consumption of aircraft fuel (avtur) is expected to increase by 2.8 percent, and kerosene by 4.2 percent. Then for elpiji consumption, an increase of 4 percent from normal is anticipated. Roberth emphasised that the public need not worry about energy availability during Ramadan and Idul Fitri. To anticipate higher energy consumption during the period, Pertamina has taken measures to strengthen services, including building up stock and ensuring the readiness of distribution facilities. This step is intended to ensure that energy supply to the public can run smoothly, safely, and in a measured way. In addition, the company continues to implement mitigation measures to maintain energy supply resilience, including distribution optimisation so that public needs across all operational areas are met. This is achieved through intensive monitoring and ongoing mitigation to maintain supply stability by applying a Regular, Alternative and Emergency (RAE) distribution pattern, so energy distribution can be maintained under various conditions. To support more accurate and faster monitoring of energy distribution, Pertamina also uses digitalisation systems, such as Pertamina Digital Hub, which allows real-time monitoring of energy distribution from upstream to downstream. ‘We have taken anticipatory steps, starting from stock build-up, strengthening distribution facilities, intensive coordination with all relevant stakeholders—from the government through the related ministries, embassies and foreign representations, business partners, to international partners within state-owned enterprises, to ensure the distribution monitoring system runs optimally,’ explained Roberth. Therefore, Pertamina urges the public to use energy wisely, efficiently, and according to needs.
