The opportunity to meet new consumers, expand networks, and enter larger markets is an important part of the journey for MSMEs to move up a class. Throughout the first half of 2026, Pertamina-assisted MSMEs that took part in various regional, national, and international exhibitions recorded turnover of Rp 8.57 billion.

This achievement shows how market access can open new opportunities for MSME players. Beyond generating transactions, the various exhibitions served as a space for them to introduce products, meet prospective buyers and business partners, open collaborative networks among MSMEs, and test product competitiveness in a wider market.

One such beneficiary is Sambal Ning Niniek. The business founded by Sri Wahyuni has continued to develop its market through various exhibition opportunities and business development programmes.

“For me, every stage we go through is part of the process of continuing to grow. Pertamina’s role in the journey of Sambal Ning Niniek has been extraordinary. We received capital assistance of Rp 35 million in 2023, which greatly helped strengthen operations and increase production capacity. Being selected as one of the 30 finalists of Pertamina Aggregator 2025 has also been a motivation for us to keep learning and developing this business,” said Sri Wahyuni.

Sri Wahyuni said that training through the UMK Academy and the opportunity to take part in various exhibitions have helped develop her business capacity while expanding its marketing network.

Behind the journey of MSMEs such as Sambal Ning Niniek, market access needs to be supported by business and product readiness. From legality and certification, product quality, and marketing capability to business management, all are important so that MSMEs can seize available market opportunities.

As of the end of June 2026, a total of 2,822 certifications had been facilitated for Pertamina-assisted MSMEs. Certification helps business players meet legality aspects and product standards while increasing consumer confidence as a foundation for reaching a wider market.

Strengthening the capabilities of business players is also carried out through 579 training sessions organised through Pertamina’s Rumah BUMN, covering digital marketing, legality, improving product quality and competitiveness, and business management.

Meanwhile, to open market access, assisted MSMEs have been facilitated to take part in 414 exhibitions on a regional, national, and international scale, including Food & Hospitality Indonesia, the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX), the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), and INACRAFT 2026.

Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, said the support is directed at providing a foundation while opening more opportunities for MSMEs to develop their businesses independently.

“Behind every MSME product, there is sweat and hard work. However, their steps are often halted by limited room to grow. Understanding this condition, Pertamina is present not merely to provide training. We help MSMEs complete certificates and legality, open market access, expand networks, and assemble new opportunities so that their businesses truly grow,” said Baron.

According to Baron, the momentum of National MSME Day is also a reminder that MSME development requires an ecosystem that enables business players to continue growing. Within that ecosystem, Pertamina takes on the role of enabler through mentoring, capacity building, certification, and opening access to markets.

These efforts also support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth and Goal 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. MSME development is also in line with the third Asta Cita through strengthening entrepreneurship, the creative industry, and the creation of quality jobs.

Through an increasingly open ecosystem, MSMEs are expected not only to increase sales but also to grow into stronger, more competitive businesses capable of expanding their markets independently.
