PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has again transported 45.9 thousand metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) using its vessel, Pertamina Gas 1 (PG1), from Freeport, Texas, United States. The supply is part of the company’s strategy to maintain the reliability of the national LPG supply to meet the needs of the public and productive sectors, while strengthening energy security amidst global energy market dynamics. The cargo carried by Pertamina Gas 1 consists of approximately 23 thousand metric tons of propane and 22.8 thousand metric tons of butane. Procuring supplies from various global sources is part of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s efforts to ensure national LPG availability through integrated supply chain management, from procurement, transportation, and storage, to distribution. VP Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that energy security is a crucial foundation for supporting public activities and national economic growth. Therefore, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen the reliability of the energy supply chain through supply source diversification, logistics infrastructure optimisation, and timely and sustainable distribution. “Amidst global energy dynamics, maintaining supply reliability is essential in strengthening national energy security. Pertamina Patra Niaga continuously ensures that every supply chain link, from procurement to distribution, operates in an integrated manner so that the energy needs of the public and productive sectors are met. The arrival of Pertamina Gas 1 is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to ensuring LPG supply remains available safely, reliably, and sustainably,” Kitty said in a press release on Monday (13/7/2026). The LPG cargo carried by Pertamina Gas 1 is equivalent to approximately 15.2 million 3-kilogram LPG cylinders. Upon arrival in Indonesia, around 26 thousand metric tons were unloaded at the Sekong LPG Terminal in Banten, and approximately 19.9 thousand metric tons will be unloaded at the Arun LPG Terminal in Aceh. This supply will subsequently strengthen the national stock before being distributed through Pertamina Patra Niaga’s infrastructure network according to needs to maintain LPG supply reliability for the public. Pertamina Gas 1 departed from Freeport (US FPO), Texas, United States, on 29 May 2026 and undertook a transoceanic voyage to Indonesia, prioritising safety, security, and operational reliability. This shipment reflects Pertamina Patra Niaga’s capability in professionally managing the global energy supply chain so that LPG supplies can arrive on schedule to support the fulfilment of national energy needs. As a Downstream Subholding, Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to strengthen the energy logistics system through the optimisation of procurement, transport fleets, terminal infrastructure, and integrated distribution networks. This effort is part of the company’s commitment to maintaining national energy security while ensuring the availability of safe, reliable, and sustainable energy for the public.
