Pertamina Apologises Over Fuel Station Queues in Makassar as Supply Is Increased
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has apologised for the public inconvenience caused by fuel service disruptions at a number of petrol stations (SPBU) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, over recent days.
To relieve the congestion, the company is carrying out recovery measures to ensure the public’s fuel needs are met and service operations return to optimal levels.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi has extended petrol station operating hours, strengthened and increased fuel supplies, and added nozzles and operators at several filling points.
The company has also deployed additional Fuel Service Task Force Outlets to speed up the filling process and clear vehicle queues on the ground.
Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Deny Sukendar, said the company understands the difficulties the public is facing and continues to strengthen its handling of the situation together with relevant authorities.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga understands the difficulties and aspirations of the people. We apologise for the inconvenience that has occurred. We have taken and continue to strengthen various recovery steps, including together with the Joint Task Force on the ground. We see that queue conditions at a number of petrol stations in Makassar are gradually improving, with services becoming more normal,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (15/9/2026).
In its implementation, oversight and management on the ground are supported by a Joint Task Force involving the Regional Government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri). The Joint Task Force has been deployed directly to monitor, supervise and manage traffic flow at petrol stations to ensure fuel distribution runs in an orderly and well-targeted manner.
Operational developments are being communicated regularly through the official Instagram account @pertaminasulawesi. Currently, queue conditions at petrol stations in the Makassar area are observed to be gradually improving and services are returning to normal. Pertamina Patra Niaga has expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and is committed to continuing evaluations to improve the quality of fuel services in Makassar.
