Pertamina and MEPS Strengthen Gas Cooperation to Support Refinery Operations

Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening its cooperation in gas supply provision to support national energy security by ensuring the operational reliability of Pertamina’s refineries. This was achieved through the signing of a Key Terms Sheet for a Gas Sales Agreement with PT Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V., sourced from the Sakakemlag Working Area.

The gas is expected to support the operational needs of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Dumai and/or Plaju refineries. The signing took place during the Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention and Exhibition (IPA Convex) 2026 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Wednesday (20/5). The agreement was signed by the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, alongside the Director of PT Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V., Ronald Gunawan, and witnessed by the Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto.

The President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, stated that this cooperation is part of the company’s efforts to maintain the sustainability of energy supplies for Pertamina Patra Niaga’s operations, particularly to support energy processing in refineries. “This cooperation is part of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to ensuring that energy needs for refinery operations can be met reliably and sustainably. Through the support of gas supplies from Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V., we hope this synergy can strengthen the national energy supply chain to maintain long-term national energy security,” Mars Ega said in a press release on Friday (22/5/2026).

Through this partnership, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen its role as Pertamina’s Downstream Subholding in ensuring the availability of an integrated, reliable energy supply capable of supporting long-term operational needs.
