To achieve energy self-sufficiency requires integrated, coordinated, and systematic efforts involving all stakeholders. JAKARTA (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina EP has collaborated with local governments to support national energy security and safeguard community food security. Nanang Abdul Manaf, Chairman of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ Task Force for Accelerating Production and Oil and Gas Lifting, stated in Jakarta on Monday that achieving energy self-sufficiency requires synergy among all stakeholders. “Achieving energy self-sufficiency requires integrated, coordinated, and systematic efforts involving all stakeholders,” Nanang said. The collaboration was manifested through the ‘Harmonisation of Spatial Planning for Astacita Energy and Food Security’ event held in Surabaya, East Java, on 18-19 May 2026. The event was attended by Lampri, Director General of Land and Spatial Management at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR/BPN); Anggono Mahendrawan, Head of SKK Migas Regional Office for Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara; Rachmat Hidajat, President Director of PT Pertamina EP; and Hermansyah Y. Nasroen, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi. PT Pertamina EP President Director Rachmat Hidajat praised the stakeholders’ support for the event. He hoped the event would foster consensus and synergy to support upstream oil and gas operations and achieve national energy and food security. “We hope this event marks a positive step in strengthening collaboration between the central and local governments, agriculture sector, and energy industry,” Hermansyah said. Participants also discussed land control and enforcement policies and spatial planning. Both central and local governments pledged support for Pertamina’s activities, including resolving upstream oil and gas operational issues in accordance with applicable laws.
