PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) Balikpapan Refinery, together with the Pertamina Zakat Agency (Bazma) Balikpapan, has distributed school equipment and educational assistance to 300 primary to secondary school students in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

Dodi Yapsenang, Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR at PT PPN Balikpapan Refinery, stated on Thursday that this programme is part of the company’s commitment to supporting educational sustainability for students from families in need. “Education is the best investment for creating a superior future generation. We hope this assistance not only eases the burden on parents but also serves as motivation for students to continue learning and achieving,” he said.

The distribution event was attended by Bazma officials, representatives from the Balikpapan City Education and Culture Office, representatives from PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB), school principals, accompanying teachers, and the student beneficiaries. The presence of various stakeholders represents a synergy in supporting more inclusive access to education.

Adistya Pradika, Chairman of the Bazma Balikpapan Educational Aid Distribution Committee, explained that Bazma distributed aid to 300 students this year. The assistance consisted of 200 school supply packages and educational cost subsidies totalling Rp82,500,000. Adistya also expressed appreciation to all parties supporting the programme.

In addition to the distribution of aid, the event included motivational sessions, character education, communal prayer, and the symbolic handover of assistance to the students. The series of activities is expected to provide added value for the beneficiaries. Through this programme, Bazma Balikpapan hopes to encourage students to continue excelling and become a generation that benefits their surrounding environment. One of the recipients, Faza, an 11th-grade student at SMK Negeri 6 Balikpapan, expressed gratitude and thanks for the assistance received.
