Pertamina Adds 3.2 Million LPG Cylinders in Northern Sumatra
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is adding 3.26 million LPG cylinders to meet the needs of the community in the northern Sumatra region (Sumbagut) ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026. This was stated by the Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Sunardi.
“As a precautionary measure against the increase in LPG consumption ahead of Idulfitri, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut (northern Sumatra) is adding LPG supplies during the period from H-7 to Eid day 2026 by 3,263,680 cylinders,” said Sunardi, as quoted from Antara on Friday, 20 March 2026.
According to him, this addition is equivalent to an average daily supply increase of 407,960 cylinders per day, or 12 percent higher than the normal daily distribution.
Recorded LPG for the Aceh region reaches 353,920 cylinders or an average daily addition of 58,987 cylinders. In the North Sumatra region, the additional LPG supply reaches 1,461,040 cylinders or an average daily addition of 182,630 cylinders.
Meanwhile, in the West Sumatra region, the additional LPG supply reaches 614,880 cylinders or an average daily addition of 76,860 cylinders. For the Riau region, the additional LPG supply reaches 641,760 cylinders or an average daily addition of 91,680 cylinders. Whereas in the Riau Islands, the additional LPG supply reaches 192,080 cylinders, with an average daily addition of 32,013 cylinders.
Sunardi stated that this additional supply is part of Pertamina’s commitment to ensure that the community can carry out Ramadan worship and celebrate Idulfitri comfortably. “Pertamina is committed to ensuring smooth energy distribution,” he said.
Pertamina Patra Niaga is also continuously monitoring the LPG distribution conditions in the field and coordinating with local governments and distributor partners to ensure optimal LPG distribution to the community.
