Pertamina Adds 1.1 Million LPG Cylinders to Anticipate Ramadan Demand
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java (JBT) has added 1.1 million three-kilogram LPG cylinders — equivalent to 3,544 metric tonnes — for the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) areas.
The additional supply is intended to anticipate the rise in demand during Ramadan. Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java, said the extra three-kilogram LPG supply began being distributed on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
Of the total additional allocation, 144,000 cylinders were earmarked for the Yogyakarta area, whilst more than one million cylinders were channelled to Central Java. The volume represents 75 per cent more than normal daily distribution levels.
The measure forms part of Pertamina’s efforts to maintain energy supply stability whilst supporting inflation control and safeguarding public purchasing power during Ramadan, a period when household LPG consumption typically rises.
“We are ensuring this additional supply can maintain stock reliability in the field, particularly at distribution points, so that the public need not worry about the availability of three-kilogram LPG during Ramadan,” Taufiq Kurniawan said.
Pertamina also urged the public to purchase three-kilogram LPG from authorised distribution points to ensure prices comply with government regulations. The maximum retail price (HET) for three-kilogram LPG is set at Rp18,000.
In addition, financially capable consumers were asked to use non-subsidised LPG so that subsidy distribution remains properly targeted. Pertamina offers the non-subsidised Bright Gas product in two sizes: 5.5 kilograms and 12 kilograms.
